Swiss Stone Pine Derivative Is a Neurocosmetic Active

Mibelle Biochemistry’s Pinolumin is a novel neurocosmetic active from the wood of Swiss stone pine. This component contains a resveratrol-like molecule called pinosylvin, which has been shown to neutralize free radicals, block pain receptors present in the skin and reduce inflammation through several biological pathways. This is especially of value for irritated and sensitive skin, where pain receptors are constantly active and lead to itching, inflammation and an uneven appearance of the skin, according to the company.

With Pinolumin, the company developed an active to capture the beneficial effects of Swiss stone pine in order to reduce skin irritation and inflammation.
